European Dermatology forum

Recognizing the need to address dermatological issues, seven academic dermatologists, all heads of university departments, formed the European Dermatology Forum (EDF) in 1997 as a non-profit professional organization dedicated to improving the healthcare needs of dermatology patients in Europe. At its inception the EDF published a document setting out its mission and this continues to remain at the core of its activities. The specific aims of the EDF are amongst others to define the necessary competencies and boundaries of dermatology and dermatovenereology, to improve knowledge concerning the scientific basis of skin and its diseases so that the medical community, government organizations, healthcare providers, patients and society in general may be better informed. It also aims to develop and maintain high quality in dermatology teaching and training programs as well as provide independent advice and facilitate communication between dermatologists and European organizations concerned with improving the quality of skin care including industry, academia, government, patient organizations and society.

Galderma is committed to support each of these EDF actions as they are close to our global mission. Galderma has been partnering with the EDF and participating to the “think tank” meeting with 180 high level Heads of Departments of Dermatology in Europe, sponsoring of the Euroderm Excellence program since its inception in 2004.
