Galderma Brazil celebrates plant extension kick-off

We recently announced the start of our plant extension in Hortolândia, near São Paulo, Brazil.  Humberto C. Antunes, CEO of Nestlé Skin Health, and Luis Fernando Lenski, General Manager, Galderma Brazil were on site to lay the first foundation stone.

A total of  R$ 200 million is being invested  in this new plant, which  will increase its production capacity sixfold to 64 million units, in order to accelerate its expansion in the Brazilian and Southern Latin American market.

The new plant is scheduled to be up and running in 2018, manufacturing products such as Cetaphil, Daylong, Loceryl and Mirvaso. This investment will create 300 direct and approximately 450 indirect jobs in the region and will triple the whole site’s current workforce, as well as increase the size of the building to 16000 m².

Brazil is Galderma’s second largest affiliate, with an average growth rate of 23% over the past five years. The decision to expand the plant is largely due to the substantial skin health market, which is currently the third largest in the world after the United States and Japan.
