Head of the Consumer Global Business Unit
Walter Geiger has been Head of the Consumer Global Business Unit since February 2020.
He is responsible for Galderma’s global Consumer business, which includes well-known brands such as Cetaphil, Differin, Benzac and Loceryl, delivering on the growth objectives of the global organiuation, strategic planning, business development, innovation, and commercial planning and execution.
Walter joined Galderma from Johnson & Johnson where he was Regional Vice President for the Consumer Eastern Europe and Central Asia division, with responsibility for a portfolio of 25 brands and 14 markets, where he led the growth agenda with a focus on high-margin global brands, emerging retail channels and new brand launches.
Prior to Johnson & Johnson, Walter was a strategic advisor for leading private equity firms in New York and Chicago, where he worked on multiple deals across the Consumer space. He previously spent 25 years with Procter & Gamble where his last assignment was Vice President and General Manager for Hair Care & Hair Color in North America. Before that held various assignments local, regional and global leadership roles.
Walter has a Master’s Degree in Social and Economic Sciences, Business Administration from the University of Vienna and has lived and worked in eight countries across North America, Asia and Europe. He has been on the Board of several non-profit organizations, including the American Chamber of Commerce.
