BRINGING INNOVATION TO LIFE
Galderma is the only truly scaled pure-play dermatology company – and we have been meeting patient needs with superior outcomes for 45 years.
Our commitment to advancing dermatology for every skin story is grounded in that heritage. Through our investment in innovation, we bring to market transformative technologies and services across the three segments in which we compete: Injectable Aesthetics, Dermatological Skincare and Therapeutic Dermatology.
Galderma R&D operates as one, global integrated platform with synergies across all our product categories. Our in-house organization is designed to drive efficiency and innovation by leveraging our deep scientific, clinical, medical and regulatory expertise and experience.
Since becoming an independent company in 2019, Galderma’s global team of over 800 R&D professionals has played a pivotal role in securing around 300 major regulatory approvals. These milestones not only underscore our continued growth but also signal the emergence of exciting new dermatological solutions for consumers and patients. Notably, for Cetaphil® alone, Galderma has conducted over 770 clinical trials involving more than 21,000 participants since 2020, furthering our commitment to advancing sensitive skin research.
Our best-in-class R&D pipeline makes us a partner of choice for academic and industrial research collaboration around the world. These partnerships are integral to our success, providing access to diverse perspectives, a wide range of expertise and cutting-edge technologies across the entire spectrum of dermatology.
Clear priorities for each of our product categories will support us to continue meeting the needs of patients, consumers and healthcare professionals and achieve our ambition of becoming a true powerhouse in dermatology. We are also continuously assessing strategic opportunities to supplement our pipeline with truly differentiated external assets and innovation.
INNOVATION ACROSS OUR THREE PRODUCT CATEGORIES
INJECTABLE AESTHETICS
In Injectable Aesthetics, we maintain sustainable growth by focusing on premium solutions trusted by healthcare professionals around the world.
Our innovative aesthetics solutions—including neuromodulators, hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers and biostimulators—address a wide range of concerns, from dynamic and static wrinkles to asymmetries and aging skin. We are also developing additional offerings for skin quality treatments, including glow and texture.
A key component in our portfolio is the first and only ready-to-use neuromodulator created with Galderma’s proprietary PEARLTM Technology, indicated for the treatment of frown lines and crow’s feet in adult patients under 65 years old. Findings from two phase IIIb clinical studies highlighted its rapid onset of action, with some patients reporting effect from Day 1. The treatment effect was demonstrated for six months, with up to 75% of patients not returning to baseline.
A pioneering product in regenerative aesthetics, Sculptra® leverages PLLA-SCA technology to stimulate natural collagen production. Clinical study results show Sculptra’s regenerative properties and effect across all three skin layers, in addition to its lower inflammatory response compared to PLLA-GA biostimulators.
Restylane® SHAYPETM is the latest addition to our hyaluronic acid (HA) filler portfolio, powered by our unique Nasha HDTM technology and designed for temporary augmentation of the chin area. This new HA gel is both the firmest on the market, and the closest to that found naturally in the skin.
Our HA injectables and biostimulators portfolio is at the center of our leading research on aesthetic treatment after medication-driven weight loss, which led to our groundbreaking report and practitioner guidelines to meet the needs of this patient group. A first-of-its-kind clinical trial recently confirmed that the combination of Sculptra and Restylane Lyft™ or Contour™* delivers sustained improvement in facial aesthetic appearance for patients experiencing facial volume loss due to medication-driven weight loss. Another of our premium, flagship injectables, Alluzience®, is Europe’s first and only ready-to-use liquid neuromodulator.
DERMATOLOGICAL SKINCARE
Remaining competitive in the consumer segment requires relentless innovation grounded in superior science and recommended by dermatologists.
Cetaphil® is one of our flagship brands, with both a seven-decade legacy of trust and a focus on continuous innovation. One of its latest launches, the Skin Activator Hydrating & Firming line, marks an entirely new skincare segment of advanced hydration and firming solutions designed specifically for improving the appearance of aging, thinning and fragile skin. As people age, surface skin cells stop performing at the same level, or ‘go to sleep.’ This can cause fine lines, dehydration and looser skin, in turn leading to skin looking and feeling less firm and more fragile. Skin Activator technology serves as a ‘wake-up call’ to sleeping surface skin cells. The unique complex is powered by encapsulated CICA to help restore the skin’s moisture barrier to visibly plump and firm skin as well as microdosed mandelic acid to increase surface skin cell turnover to visibly reduce dull, uneven skin. In clinical trials, the Skin Activator Hydrating & Firming Lotion was shown to be effective in improving the appearance of skin ‘crepiness’ and to smooth skin’s texture in one week.
Cetaphil’s Nourishing Oil to Foam Cleanser is a first-of-its-kind formula designed to deeply cleanse while preserving hydration and supporting the sensitive skin’s moisture barrier. This revolutionary product was developed with dermatologists and brought to life in collaboration with medical experts and content creators. Developed without parabens or fragrance, the cleanser sets a new standard for a gentle-yet-effective, hydrating cleanse.
Alastin® is one of our key growth drivers, enhancing our Dermatological Skincare portfolio through premium offerings. We have expanded the range internationally, and continue to launch multiple new products in the U.S. Our latest additions provide effective solutions to everyday skin concerns. C-Radical Defense, a Vitamin C formula with Sodium Ascorbate and 14 antioxidants, shields against environmental stressors while preserving elastin. And ReSURFACE Skin Polish® gently rejuvenates rough skin with volcanic minerals and glycolic acid. Alastin products are formulated to support the skin’s natural regenerative abilities to help with skin recovery before and after aesthetic procedures, meeting growing demand for peri-procedural skincare. This line of regenerative skincare products reflects Galderma’s integrated approach to aesthetic care – working across its Dermatological Skincare and Injectable Aesthetics portfolios to ensure that products complement each other to elevate patient outcomes.
A key way in which we drive innovation in this sub-category is through our Global Sensitive Skincare Faculty (GSSF), a pioneering international initiative that is dedicated to advancing the understanding, diagnosis and care of sensitive skin. The GSSF conducts inclusive, science-led research with the world’s leading dermatology experts. Recently, results from its groundbreaking real-world clinical study revealed that modern lifestyles and environmental triggers significantly impact individuals with sensitive skin.
THERAPEUTIC DERMATOLOGY
In Therapeutic Dermatology, we spearhead ambitious projects that target unmet needs in strategic therapeutic areas.
We broke new ground in 2024 with the launch of Nemluvio® (nemolizumab), our novel biologic first launched for adults with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis and prurigo nodularis, and children over 12 with atopic dermatitis. Nemluvio is the first approved monoclonal antibody that targets IL-31 receptor alpha, a neuroimmune cytokine which drives itch and is involved in inflammation and skin barrier dysfunction in these diseases. Since Nemluvio’s launch, we have been continuously exploring its potential to treat a wider range of patients and conditions, including Systemic Sclerosis (SSc) and Chronic Pruritus of Unknown Origin (CPUO).
In June 2025, Galderma announced the initiation of two new clinical trials to investigate the efficacy and safety of nemolizumab in treating patients living with SSc and CPUO – two chronic conditions with high unmet need. Both conditions are associated with poor patient outcomes and low quality of life, and can be life-threatening.
Beyond this, we continue to expand our portfolio with innovative, premium products. And in recent years, we've enhanced our leadership in over-the-counter (OTC), topical and oral acne treatments.
Aklief® is the first retinoid cream with proven results in treating facial and truncal acne vulgaris. The treatment harnesses the latest and most precise retinoid molecule, trifarotene, to clear and refine acne-prone skin. Clinical trials for Aklief have demonstrated the product’s efficacy in reducing atrophic acne scarring and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation as well as improving patient satisfaction.
We also entered a new acne spot-treatment segment with the launch of our differentiated and science-backed technology behind Benzac® and Differin® patches in the treatment of emerging pimples.
